The food was very good- chimicanga, tamales were our favorite. The hard shell taco was lacking flavor, skip it. Our waitor was nice but not real good at his job. Didn't bring it cheese dip and never checked on us to see if we needed anything during meal, didn't even make eye contact so we could flag him down.
I would definitely easy here again. -

Authentic!!! I am from Texas and am very impressed at the authenticity of the food. This is savory, well seasoned and delicious tasty food! If you like a lil heat ask for the hot salsa. And oooooh my goodness the homemade flour tortillas are devine the best I've had in a long time!
Service is impeccable and the drinks were chilled and awesome too. Go folks, go and enjoy it! We will definitely be back to our new regular favorite spot in TN, EL VALLARTA! -

I tried it 6 years ..I couldn't remember why I didn't like it before but now I do...it's totally unseasoned and bland...tastes nothing like El Patio or Los Portales....if you like bland and tasteless Mexican food then this place is for you....I used a half shaker of salt and still no taste..

Return visit was disappointing. The cashier seated me, and was cheerful and polite. The basket of chips looked old and were not fresh or hot, just room temp and brownish instead of the hot fresh golden ones I'd gotten before. The vegetarian fajita was ok, but the chili relleno ordered as a side dish had as much water on the plate as the sauce. I moved it to the fajita plate so the crust wouldn't get soggy. Obviously it had been frozen then nuked, don't know why else the plate had so much water in it. Once it was out of the water, was good. The guacamole, pico de gallo, refried beans, rice, lettuce and tomatos on the plate were all good. The two very small flour tortillas for the fajita veggies were totally inadequate and sweaty, rolled tightly in thin foil. Previously I'd received large flour tortillas, which is what this fajita dish needed instead of the two tiny ones. The waitress barely cracked a tiny smile twice, rest of the time no smile, no response when I would thank her for a tea refill. She spoke English just fine, so it wasn't a language issue. Altogether it left me in a worse mood than when I got there, and I was so positive going in, really looking forward to the positive experience I'd had some months ago. Just really disappointing.

Love this unique tasting mexican food, but I totally dislike the owner! I'm almost 50 yrs old and she carded me because I gave her a hard time about using a frequent purchase card the day before. I would have given this a 5 star rating if the owner wasn't so ill-mannered and discourteous.
